Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, we got some very good news: BFE is one of five American films selected to participate in the US in Progress program, a part of the Champs Elysées Film Festival in Paris, on June 13-16 2013.
During the festival, we’ll screen the unfinished film to an audience of European distributors. The hope is that someone will buy the film and/or help us raise the money to finish the film properly. Although we have a rough draft of the film, there’s still post-production audio, color correction and a slew of other bits and pieces to tidy up, not to mention fine tuning the edit, which we are working on presently, in other words, we’re adding music, sound effects, titles and subtitles, as well as experimenting with pacing, scene structures, adding and subtracting dialogue, etc.
As it stands, it’s not perfect but it’s getting close!
The US in Progress initiative is a joint initiative between the American Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, the Champs-Elysées Film Festival in Paris and Black Rabbit Film, helmed by Adeline Monzier. The objective of US in Progress is to present American independent films in their post-production phase to potential European buyers in order to encourage their distribution and broadcast across Europe.
The other films selected include Michael Tully’s “Ping Pong Summer,” Tommy Oliver’s “1982,” Leigh Meyerhoff’s “I Believe in Unicorns,” and “Children” by Jaffe Zinn (also from Idaho).
